One of the first steps you take when you are figuring out your gardening schedule is find your USDA Zone info. The most important data that the zone info tells us is average last frost and the lowest expected temperature for your area.

Forget-Me-Not do ok in moderate cold which tells us that you can plant them a bit earlier in the year than plants that are more sensitive to the cold.

The earliest that you can plant forget-me-not in Ontario is January. However, you really should wait until February if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant forget-me-not and expect a good harvest is probably October. You probably don't want to wait any later than that or else your forget-me-not may not have a chance to fully mature. You can get started a little bit earlier by starting your forget-me-not indoors.

Last Frost Date

The average date of last frost is January 31 in Ontario. It might get as low as 30°F during the coldest months of winter.

Since the USDA zone info for Ontario may not be accurate from year to year the actual date of last frost changes from year to year. Since half of the time in Ontario it frosts late in the year after January 31 be ready to protect your forget-me-not if you have a surprise late frost.

Lowest Expected Low	30°F
Highest Expected Low	35°F

This means that on a really cold year, the coldest it will get is 30°F. On most years you should be prepared to experience lows near 35°F.
