Broccoli are moderately cold tolerant which tells us that you can start planting them earlier than plants that are more sensitive to the cold.

The last month that you can plant broccoli and expect a good harvest is probably September. Any later than that and your broccoli may not have a chance to really do well. If you are starting your broccoli indoors then you might be able to get away with starting them a couple of weeks earlier.

Just be sure to remember that the actual date of last frost is an average because it is based on the USDA zone info for Las Vegas and it will vary from year to year. Since half of the time in Las Vegas you get a frost after April 15 be ready to cover your broccoli in the event of one of those late frosts.
