One of the best tools that you have as gardeners to help us determine your gardening schedule is the USDA zone info. The most important data that the zone info tells us is average last frost and the lowest expected temperature for your area.

When to plant:	Up to 3 weeks before last frost.

You can plant sutera just a tiny bit earlier in the year because they do ok in moderate cold.

The earliest that you can plant sutera in Nephi is March. However, you really should wait until April if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant sutera and expect a good harvest is probably August. Any later than that and your sutera may not have a chance to fully mature. Starting your sutera indoors is a great way to get them started a little bit earlier.

Last Frost Date

On average the last frost is on April 15 in Nephi. You should expect an average low temperature of -10°F in the coldest months of winter.

Just be sure to remember that the actual date of last frost is just an average because it is based on the USDA zone info for Nephi and it can change quite a bit from year to year. Half of the time in Nephi there is a last frost after April 15 so always be ready to cover your sutera if you have a late frost.

This means that on a really cold year, the coldest it will get is -10°F. On most years you should be prepared to experience lows near -5°F.
