Lavender can survive in some cold which tells us that you can plant them a little bit earlier in the year than other plants that might not handle the cold.

The earliest that you can plant lavender in Fate is February. However, you really should wait until March if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant lavender and expect a good harvest is probably September. Any later than that and your lavender may not have a chance to fully mature. You can get started a few weeks earlier by starting your lavender indoors.

Last Frost Date

In Fate the average date of last frost happens on March 15. You can expect an average low temperature of 10°F in the coldest months of winter.

Keep in mind that the actual date of last frost is an average because it is based on the USDA zone info for Fate and it is different every year. Half of the time in Fate there is a last frost after March 15 so be sure to be ready to protect your lavender if you have a surprise late frost.

This means that on a really cold year, the coldest it will get is 10°F. On most years you should be prepared to experience lows near 15°F.
