When can I plant Trachelium in Zone 8b

One of the best tools that we have as gardeners to help us estimate our gardening schedule is the USDA zone info. The most important data that the zone info tells us is average last frost and the lowest expected temperature for our area.

In Zone 8b you can figure out when it's a good idea to plant trachelium by referring to the USDA zone info.

The earliest that you can plant trachelium in Zone 8b is April. However, you really should wait until May if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant trachelium and expect a good harvest is probably August. Any later than that and your trachelium may not have a chance to fully mature. Starting your trachelium indoors is a great way to get them started a couple of weeks earlier.

Last Frost Date

On average the last frost when the weather gets warmer is on March 15 in Zone 8b. In the coldest months of winter we should expect an average low temperature of 15°F.

Since the USDA zone info for Zone 8b is not always accurate our actual date of last frost can change quite a bit from year to year. Half of the time in Zone 8b it frosts late in the year after March 15 so be sure to be ready to protect your trachelium if we have a late frost.
