The earliest that you can plant sutera in Zone 1b is June. However, you really should wait until July if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant sutera and expect a good harvest is probably July. Any later than that and your sutera may not have a chance to grow to maturity. You can get started a little bit earlier by starting your sutera indoors.

In Zone 1b the average date of last frost happens on June 15. In the coldest months of winter you should expect an average low temperature of -55°F.

Always keep in mind that the actual date of last frost is not always accurate because it is based on the USDA zone info for Zone 1b and it can change quite a bit from year to year. Half of the time in Zone 1b it frosts late in the year after June 15 so be sure to be ready to protect your sutera if you have a late frost.
