When can I plant Alternaria in Zone 10a

One of the best tools that we have as gardeners to help us determine our gardening schedule is the USDA zone info. The most important data that the zone info tells us is average last frost and the lowest expected temperature for our area.

The earliest that you can plant alternaria in Zone 10a should be estimated by looking at the USDA zone info.

It's not a good idea to plant alternaria until after the last frost when the weather gets warmer because they are not cold tolerant.

The earliest that you can plant alternaria in Zone 10a is February. However, you really should wait until March if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant alternaria and expect a good harvest is probably September. You probably don't want to wait any later than that or else your alternaria may not have a chance to really do well. If you are starting your alternaria indoors then you might be able to get away with starting them a couple of weeks earlier.

The average date of last frost is January 31 in Zone 10a. In the coldest months of winter we can expect an average low temperature of 30°F.
