When can I plant Parsley in Zone 8a

One of the best tools that we have as gardeners to help us estimate our gardening schedule is the USDA zone info. The most important data that the zone info tells us is average last frost and the lowest expected temperature for our area.

The earliest that you can plant parsley in Zone 8a is February. However, you really should wait until March if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant parsley and expect a good harvest is probably September. You probably don't want to wait any later than that or else your parsley may not have a chance to really do well. If you are starting your parsley indoors then you might be able to get away with starting them a few weeks earlier.

On average the last frost when the weather gets warmer is on March 15 in Zone 8a. We should expect an average low temperature of 10°F in the coldest months of winter.

Just be sure to remember that our actual date of last frost is an average because it is based on the USDA zone info for Zone 8a and it changes from year to year. Half of the time in Zone 8a we get surprised by a frost after March 15 so be sure to be ready to cover your parsley if we have a late frost.
