When can I plant Kohlrabi in Zone 5b

The earliest that you can plant kohlrabi in Zone 5b is February. However, you really should wait until March if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant kohlrabi and expect a good harvest is probably September. Any later than that and your kohlrabi may not have a chance to grow to maturity. If you are starting your kohlrabi indoors then you might be able to get away with starting them a few weeks earlier.

On average the last frost when the weather gets warmer is on April 15 in Zone 5b. In the coldest months of winter we should expect an average low temperature of -15°F.
