When can I plant Sutera in Zone 9a

The earliest that you can plant sutera in Zone 9a is February. However, you really should wait until March if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant sutera and expect a good harvest is probably September. You probably don't want to wait any later than that or else your sutera may not have a chance to really do well. Starting your sutera indoors is a great way to get them started a few weeks earlier.

In Zone 9a the average date of last frost happens on February 15. In the coldest months of winter we can expect an average low temperature of 20°F.

Always keep in mind that our actual date of last frost is not always accurate because it is based on the USDA zone info for Zone 9a and it can change quite a bit from year to year. Since half of the time in Zone 9a last frost occurs after February 15 be ready to cover your sutera if we have one of those late frosts.
