The earliest that you can plant eggplants in Zone 1a is June. However, you really should wait until July if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant eggplants and expect a good harvest is probably July. Any later than that and your eggplants may not have a chance to really do well. If you are starting your eggplants indoors then you might be able to get away with starting them a little bit earlier.

Just be sure to remember that the actual date of last frost is an average because it is based on the USDA zone info for Zone 1a and it changes from year to year. Half of the time in Zone 1a last frost occurs after June 15 so make sure that you are prepared to protect your eggplants if you have one of those late frosts.
