When to Plant Veronica in Zone 1a

The earliest that you can plant veronica in Zone 1a is May. However, you really should wait until June if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant veronica and expect a good harvest is probably July. If you wait any later than that and your veronica may not have a chance to fully mature. You can get started a couple of weeks earlier by starting your veronica indoors.

In Zone 1a the average date of last frost happens on June 15. It might get as low as -60°F during the coldest months of winter.

Keep in mind that the actual date of last frost is an average because it is based on the USDA zone info for Zone 1a and it is different every year. Half of the time in Zone 1a last frost occurs after June 15 so make sure that you are prepared to protect your veronica if you have one of those late frosts.
