When can I plant Mimulus in Zone 6a

One of the best tools that we have as gardeners to help us estimate our gardening schedule is the USDA zone info. The most important data that the zone info tells us is average last frost and the lowest expected temperature for our area.

It's a good idea to figure out when to plant mimulus by reviewing the USDA zone info for Zone 6a.

The earliest that you can plant mimulus in Zone 6a is April. However, you really should wait until May if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant mimulus and expect a good harvest is probably August. You probably don't want to wait any later than that or else your mimulus may not have a chance to really do well. You can get started a couple of weeks earlier by starting your mimulus indoors.

In Zone 6a the average date of last frost happens on April 15. In the coldest months of winter we can expect an average low temperature of -10°F.
