When can I plant Artemesia in Zone 4a

Artemesia can survive in some cold which tells us that you can plant them a bit earlier in the year than plants that are more sensitive to the cold.

The earliest that you can plant artemesia in Zone 4a is April. However, you really should wait until May if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant artemesia and expect a good harvest is probably August. If you wait any later than that and your artemesia may not have a chance to grow to maturity. You can get started a couple of weeks earlier by starting your artemesia indoors.

On average all chance of frost has passed is on May 15 in Zone 4a. We can expect an average low temperature of -30°F in the coldest months of winter.
