When can I plant Gomphrena in Zone 3a

One of the best tools that we have as gardeners to help us determine our gardening schedule is the USDA zone info. The most important data that the zone info tells us is average last frost and the lowest expected temperature for our area.

A way of figuring out when it's a good idea to plant gomphrena is to consult the USDA zone info for Zone 3a.

Gomphrena tend to make it in a tiny bit of cold which means that you can plant them slightly earlier in the year than other plants that might not handle the cold.

The earliest that you can plant gomphrena in Zone 3a is April. However, you really should wait until May if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant gomphrena and expect a good harvest is probably August. Any later than that and your gomphrena may not have a chance to really do well. If you are starting your gomphrena indoors then you might be able to get away with starting them a few weeks earlier.
