When can I plant Festuca in Zone 12a

One of the first steps we take when we are figuring out our gardening schedule is find our USDA Zone info. The most important data that the zone info tells us is average last frost and the lowest expected temperature for our area.

The earliest that you can plant festuca in Zone 12a is January. However, you really should wait until February if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant festuca and expect a good harvest is probably November. Any later than that and your festuca may not have a chance to grow to maturity. If you are starting your festuca indoors then you might be able to get away with starting them a few weeks earlier.
