When can I plant Arctotis in Zone 7a

One of the best tools that we have as gardeners to help us determine our gardening schedule is the USDA zone info. The most important data that the zone info tells us is average last frost and the lowest expected temperature for our area.

By looking at the USDA zone info for Zone 7a it's a good idea to figure out when it's possible to plant arctotis.

Since arctotis are moderately cold tolerant you can plant them just a bit earlier in the year than more sensitive plants.

The earliest that you can plant arctotis in Zone 7a is February. However, you really should wait until March if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant arctotis and expect a good harvest is probably September. If you wait any later than that and your arctotis may not have a chance to really do well. If you are starting your arctotis indoors then you might be able to get away with starting them a few weeks earlier.
