When can I plant Sedum in Zone 7a

Sedum tend to make it in pretty solid cold which tells us that you can plant them earlier in the year than plants that are more sensitive to the cold.

The earliest that you can plant sedum in Zone 7a is February. However, you really should wait until March if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant sedum and expect a good harvest is probably September. If you wait any later than that and your sedum may not have a chance to fully mature. You can get started a few weeks earlier by starting your sedum indoors.

The average date of last frost is April 15 in Zone 7a. It might get as low as 0°F during the coldest months of winter.
