When can I plant Angel's Trumpets in Zone 2a

One of the first steps we take when we are figuring out our gardening schedule is find our USDA Zone info. The most important data that the zone info tells us is average last frost and the lowest expected temperature for our area.

One way of getting a good idea when you can plant angel's trumpets is to use the USDA zone info for Zone 2a.

The earliest that you can plant angel's trumpets in Zone 2a is May. However, you really should wait until June if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant angel's trumpets and expect a good harvest is probably August. If you wait any later than that and your angel's trumpets may not have a chance to really do well. If you are starting your angel's trumpets indoors then you might be able to get away with starting them a few weeks earlier.

Always keep in mind that our actual date of last frost is not always accurate because it is based on the USDA zone info for Zone 2a and it can change quite a bit from year to year. Half of the time in Zone 2a we get a frost after May 15 so make sure that you are ready to cover your angel's trumpets if we have a surprise late frost.
