The earliest that you can plant sutera in Zone 2a is May. However, you really should wait until June if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant sutera and expect a good harvest is probably August. If you wait any later than that and your sutera may not have a chance to really do well. Starting your sutera indoors is a great way to get them started a few weeks earlier.

In Zone 2a the average date of last frost happens on May 15. You can expect an average low temperature of -50°F in the coldest months of winter.

Always keep in mind that USDA zone info for Zone 2a is just an average and the actual date of last frost changes from year to year. Half of the time in Zone 2a there is a last frost after May 15 so just be sure to be ready to protect your sutera if you have a surprise late frost.
