When can I plant Pole beans in Zone 2a

One of the first steps we take when we are getting a good idea our gardening schedule is find our USDA Zone info. The zone info helps tell us things like average date of last frost and lowest expected temperature for our area.

The earliest that you can plant pole beans in Zone 2a is May. However, you really should wait until June if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant pole beans and expect a good harvest is probably August. If you wait any later than that and your pole beans may not have a chance to fully mature. If you are starting your pole beans indoors then you might be able to get away with starting them a few weeks earlier.

Remember that USDA zone info for Zone 2a may not be accurate from year to year and our actual date of last frost will vary from year to year. Since half of the time in Zone 2a last frost occurs after May 15 be ready to protect your pole beans if we have a late frost.
