When to Plant Guara in Zone 2a

The earliest that you can plant guara in Zone 2a is May. However, you really should wait until June if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant guara and expect a good harvest is probably August. You probably don't want to wait any later than that or else your guara may not have a chance to fully mature. Starting your guara indoors is a great way to get them started a couple of weeks earlier.

Last Frost Date

On average the last frost is on May 15 in Zone 2a. It might get as low as -50°F during the coldest months of winter.

Always keep in mind that the actual date of last frost is an average because it is based on the USDA zone info for Zone 2a and it changes from year to year. Half of the time in Zone 2a you get a frost after May 15 so make sure that you are ready to cover your guara if you have a late frost.
