When can I plant Nolana in Zone 2a

One of the first steps we take when we are getting a good idea our gardening schedule is find our USDA Zone info. The most important data that the zone info tells us is average last frost and the lowest expected temperature for our area.

In Zone 2a you can determine when it's possible to plant nolana by using the USDA zone info.

The earliest that you can plant nolana in Zone 2a is May. However, you really should wait until June if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant nolana and expect a good harvest is probably August. You probably don't want to wait any later than that or else your nolana may not have a chance to really do well. You can get started a few weeks earlier by starting your nolana indoors.

Last Frost Date

In Zone 2a the average date of last frost happens on May 15. In the coldest months of winter we should expect an average low temperature of -50°F.

Remember that our actual date of last frost may not be accurate from year to year because it is based on the USDA zone info for Zone 2a and it is different every year. Since half of the time in Zone 2a we get surprised by a frost after May 15 be ready to cover your nolana in the event of one of those late frosts.
