The earliest that you can plant sedum in Zone 2a is April. However, you really should wait until May if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant sedum and expect a good harvest is probably August. If you wait any later than that and your sedum may not have a chance to really do well. You can get started a few weeks earlier by starting your sedum indoors.

In Zone 2a the average date of last frost happens on May 15. You can expect an average low temperature of -50°F in the coldest months of winter.

Always keep in mind that the actual date of last frost may not be accurate from year to year because it is based on the USDA zone info for Zone 2a and it can change quite a bit from year to year. Half of the time in Zone 2a there is a last frost after May 15 so just be sure to be ready to cover your sedum in the event of a late frost.
