When can I plant Catharanthus in Zone 2a

The earliest that you can plant catharanthus in Zone 2a is May. However, you really should wait until June if you don't want to take any chances.

The last month that you can plant catharanthus and expect a good harvest is probably August. You probably don't want to wait any later than that or else your catharanthus may not have a chance to fully mature. If you are starting your catharanthus indoors then you might be able to get away with starting them a little bit earlier.

On average the last frost is on May 15 in Zone 2a. In the coldest months of winter we can expect an average low temperature of -50°F.

Just be sure to remember that our actual date of last frost may not be accurate from year to year because it is based on the USDA zone info for Zone 2a and it is different every year. Since half of the time in Zone 2a there is a last frost after May 15 be ready to cover your catharanthus in the event of a surprise late frost.
